Donny turns 85
Turning 80 is quite an accomplishment, and something that should be celebrated. Unfortunately for my granddad, any plans for a big party were put on hold when it became apparent how sick Dave was.
Dave died two weeks before Donny turned 80, and while we did celebrate, it was somewhat sombre, and not fitting of the great life my granddad has lived.
85 was different - surrounded by his three kids, their partners, four grandkids and three great-grandkids he welcomed 85 with style, gratitude and love. I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend the day.
Happy birthday, Donny. We love you!
